Cotes D'Armor

The coastline of the Cotes D'Armor is one of the most beautiful in France.  The highlights are the Emerald and Pink Granite coasts, with spectacular headlands, cliffs, bizarre rock formations and scattered islands.  Some of the most charming old towns are Dinan, Treguier, Lannion and Paimpol.  Some areas have fascinating historic associations like the Cote de Goelo south of Paimpol which was a centre of Resistance operations during the last war.

There is an artists' trail called the 'Emerald Eyes' which follows in the footsteps of Impressionist artists.  Ask the tourist office for a leaflet.

Drive along the Armorique Corniche which is a route which spans the coastal borderlands of Finistere and Cotes D'Armor through a landscape of sandy beaches, rocky headlands, fishing ports and estuaries.

There is a famous walk from Perros-Guirec which is the coastguard's watch path by the seashore.  Again ask the tourist office for a leaflet.
